The Dead Media Project consists of a database of field Notes written and researched by members of the Project's mailing list. The Dead Media List (now defunct) consists of occasional email to that stout band of souls who have declared some willingness to engage in this recherche field of study.

The Dead Media Project is looking for a new guardian/manager/shepherd. Do you think you could encourage participation, solicit opinions and comments and changes, and add to the legacy? Please contact the current custodian tomj at wps dot com and ask anything you want. This is more or less an editor's job. You'd set the pace. We'd like to maintain the continuity of what Bruce Sterling started, but it awaits your mark. The current set of Notes has been imported into a Mediawiki at here, which is the technology we (currently) see as the Dead Media Project's future -- but if you have another idea, and are willing to devote some time in it -- we're open to other content-presentation platforms. |

| The Dead Media Working Notes | |
The collection of dead media working notes is the purpose of the mailing list; the accumulated, archived, (and now collated!) collection of submissions from list members; an ad hoc database of the deceased, the slowly-rotting, the undead, and the never-lived media.
