Every year-end summary requires a review of your performance over the past year. You've dealt with a lot of different tasks this year, you want to put them all in words.There's too much text, it's all crammed together and hard to prioritize.Maybe you should try displaying a timeline of your work, which is simple and clear. But how do we make a timeline slide?
Lead with lines
A complete timeline should contain lines, time nodes and events. Here is an example to show how simple it is to achieve this effect.
Step:
- Click on “Insert” > “Shapes” and make use of the combination of basic graphics to add a sense of design to the timeline.Insert a horizontal line to represent the timeline; insert a vertical line to represent the time node; insert a rectangle to create a timestamp; insert a text box in which to enter the date.
- Decorate your timeline. Set the vertical line with: width: 2.25 pt, dash type: round dot, and end arrow: oval arrow. The color and effect of the text and rectangle can be modified to your liking.
- Combine the circle, rectangle and text box together to form a whole, so that you can copy and move around.
- Make 4 copies of the timestamp and adjust the position, then make 4 more copies and click on Rotate to invert them.This way, a simple, clear summary slide is done!
Lead with color blocks
If you are tired of lines, you can also try color blocks. Each color block represents a time node, and colorful blocks can better guide the views.
Step:
- There are many color blocks, so we will use a table to save time in typesetting. Click on Insert > Table , insert a 2X4 table, and set the height to 6 cm and the width to 7 cm;
- Select the first cell, click on Object Formatting >Solid fill, and choose your favorite color. Then select the second cell and select Picture or texture fill to insert a suitable picture from the local computer.Set the remaining cells with the method outlined above.
- Insert texts on the color block, and set the title and body.Now a simple color block timeline slide is completed!
