The forecast function in WPS Spreadsheet is not as difficult as you might think. After learning this WPS free course, you will be advanced from a beginner in WPS Spreadsheet.

· What is the FORECAST function in WPS Spreadsheet?

This function can be used to calculate or predict a future value by using existing values. Its Syntax is: =(X, Known_y's, Known_x's)

X is the data point for which you want to predict the value and must be a numeric value.

Known_y's is the set of y-values you already know in the relationship y=mx+b.

Known_x's is a range or array of x-values you already know in the relationship y=mx+b.

· Example of the FORECAST function in WPS Spreadsheet

In todays case, we will use the FOURCAST function to predict future house prices.

1. Select cell B8, and then enter the following formula:

=FORECAST(A8,B3:B7,A3:A7)

Explanation:

A8, the X argument in the FORECAST function, is the value we want to predict.

B3:B7, the Known_y's argument in the FORECAST function, is the set of y-values we already know.

A3:A7, the Known_x's argument in the FORECAST function, is a range or array of x-values we already know.

This is how FORECAST works. By doing so, we can get $424,970.00 as the predicted house prices in 2025, and this calculation is based on the past results.

2. Drag cell B8 and pull it all the way down to cell B10, and then we can get the predicted house prices in the years 2030 and 2035.
